We are neighbors, business owners, stay at home parents, coworkers, retirees, teachers, corporate executives, nurses, first responders, teachers, artists, musicians. 1 in 5 people lives with some form of mental illness, so the odds are that if you’re living with a mood or anxiety disorder, you’re in good company here in the NJ suburbs.
We are your equals
Our group has been meeting every week since February 2017.
We are always there. Unless there’s severe weather or a major holiday, someone is always around to listen. Some of us find that our Wednesday meeting is one of the few constants in an otherwise hectic life.
Facilitators have received training from the Depression Bipolar Support Alliance and follow the general formula/guidelines of a DBSA meeting.
We strive to provide a respectful atmosphere and do not discriminate based on race, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, or gender.
Our focus is on mood and anxiety disorders, which include depression, bipolar, dysthymia, postpartum mood/anxiety disorders, seasonal affectiveness disorder, anxiety, panic disorder, OCD, and PTSD. Each facilitator has lived experience with depression or bipolar.
