We are neighbors, business owners, stay at home parents, coworkers, retirees, teachers, corporate executives, nurses, first responders, teachers, artists, musicians. 1 in 5 people lives with some form of mental illness, so the odds are that if you’re living with a mood or anxiety disorder, you’re in good company here in the NJ suburbs.
We are your equals
- Our group has been meeting every week since February 2017.
- We are always there. Unless there’s severe weather or a major holiday, someone is always around to listen. Some of us find that our Wednesday meeting is one of the few constants in an otherwise hectic life.
- Facilitators have received training from the Depression Bipolar Support Alliance and follow the general formula/guidelines of a DBSA meeting.
- We strive to provide a respectful atmosphere and do not discriminate based on race, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, or gender.
- Our focus is on mood and anxiety disorders, which include depression, bipolar, dysthymia, postpartum mood/anxiety disorders, seasonal affectiveness disorder, anxiety, panic disorder, OCD, and PTSD. Each facilitator has lived experience with depression or bipolar.
